Corinne says social networking is for “show-offs”!

Singer Corinne Bailey Rae has revealed that social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook are for “show-offs”!!

Rae expressed her disapproval to The Daily Star, saying she prefers to interact with her fans in person:
“I’m trying to be here, present, enjoying this time in my life right now. I don’t want to be someone who can’t wait to tweet or blog about a moment. Live in the moment.

“The Facebook thing is about showing off. I really dislike that. It’s attention-seeking. Sometimes I hang around a venue at the end of a gig for hours. If people say, ‘I like this song’, I’d much rather have a normal conversation.”

Ark at ‘er….well, we like showin off, so there!

  1. I understand what Corinne’s saying but i do think that online interaction is a really good way to get in touch with her fans. I go to Corinne’s shows quite regularly and i do appreciate the time she spends interacting with fans in person but we don’t always get to see her and even if we get close there are so many others that it’s hard to connect. Come on Corinne, get blogging!!

On another note, I’ve recently come across another UK singer who’s working with one of Corinne’s song-writers called kelly Erez http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OY3sWuuaHRI
