Montreal indie rockers Arcade Fire turn up the heat on their third album, ‘The Suburbs’.
Inspired by Will and Win Butler’s childhood in the scorching suburbs of Houston, Texas, the album builds on the band’s blazing fusion of art pop and guitar-driven indie rock.
Featuring 16 tracks that merge into one mesmerising masterpiece, it’s a record that will leave you sweating for more. The band spare no instruments on the title track, a folk-pop ditty that builds into a maelstrom of haunting harmonies, soaring strings and melancholic piano.
The album’s first UK single, “We Used to Wait”, creates a huge sonic landscape populated by Win’s vast vocals and some mournful melodies. Elsewhere, “Ready to Start” is an 80′s inspired rocker that will thrill fans with its piercing guitars, driving drums and addictive choruses.
