January is the month of Halston…and SJP

I am ever so slightly loving this latest SJP look for ELLE US‘s January 2011 edition, which features a Halston Heritage dress, Azzedine Alaia belt, Chopard diamond earrings and enamel/gold bling frosting by Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co.

I’m not even going there with the whole ‘lollipop’ head, skinny thing, because it will just make all of us girls feel extreme guilt before we knock back those few hundred glasses of shampain over Christmas and the New Year (alcohol = fat, natch); or the fact Parker’s face is giving off that ‘I’m gritting my teeth and smiling’ vibe. And where are her eyes underneath all that Kohl eyeliner and panda shadow…(has she been taking beauty tips from Claudia Winkleman?).

But I’m liking the three-tone colour hair, which reminds me, I need to get my roots done.

In the magazine interview, Parker discusses that well worn subject EVERY magazine asks female stars about; ageing naturally (yawnnnn), to which she says:

“Oh my God, I’m aging all the time. It’s like those flowers that wilt in front of you in time-lapse films. But what can I possibly do? Look like a lunatic?”

Hello Donatella Versace and the entire cast of every daytime American TV soap with 50-something’s pulled back to their 30′s (via their ears).

The actress also discusses her role at Halston as Creative Director for the label, saying: “I said, ‘Please know this now: I will never do this for a title. I will never dip in and out of this. I’ll do it like everything else I’ve ever done. I’ll be involved down to the splitting of the atom.’”

And the free dresses I imagine. *high five*

  1. I love this dress and the way she has accessorised it. Much prefer her with her hair down too.
