The remaining members of Boyzone and the late Stephen Gately’s partner Andrew Cowles will return to Majorca tomorrow, to bring his body back to Ireland ahead of a private family wake in Dublin on Friday evening and the funeral on Saturday.

Gately is “currently lying in a chapel of rest in the hills of Majorca” the boy band said on their website yesterday, “whilst repatriation formalities continued”. On Tuesday the band paid their respects to Gately’s family in Dublin.

Ronan, Keith, Mikey and Shane will all act as pall bearers at the funeral on Saturday at St Lawrence O’Toole church at midday. A further memorial service will also be held in London where Stephen and Andrew shared a home, details will be confirmed at a later date.
